Happy New Year everyone!
I first would like to say no matter how you came across this blog just know that this year is your year and you will make the best of what 2019 has in store for you!
Let’s take a little trip down memory lane, I started Time2Mend December 13th, 2016! With my very first post “Trying Online Dating After an Abusive Relationship”. I was so hesitant at first yet I loved to write so boom I went for it! I wasn’t sure if anyone would even stumble across the website, if they would like it or hate it, I just went for it and gave it my all.
Now flash forward to 2019 and so much has changed since then…
Time2Mend now has a YouTube Channel (with 61 subscribers thus far)
as well as a Soundcloud Podcast!
Time2Mend has been viewed 7,188 times (and counting).
I have moved out of my tiny studio into my own two-bedroom apartment with my daughter (will insert pics once we are finished decorating) and last but definitely not least I’m drama/toxic/abusive boyfriend-FREE (Finally!) *Pats self on back*
So much has progressed within these last few years that I decided this year I want to work even harder! I decided to buy a small journal and write every single thing I want to do in 2019, big and small!
I wrote things as simple as:
“Talk to at least one person (real life talking not through Social Media) a day” (Strangers included)
to bigger goals such as
“Gain 5 new YouTube Subscribers per month.”
I also decided to create a vision board journal, using a blank paged journal and some old magazines and those huge stacks of flyers that you get in the mail. By cutting out different images, quotes, words, etc I am able to visually get an idea of what I want to accomplish this 2019!
I want to watch Time2Mend grow and be able to impact more and more lives in the process.
Throughout the two years of Time2Mend I have been given the opportunity to hear so many stories from around the world of people being inspired by Time2Mend, of people feeling motivated and encouraged by me spreading awareness and being so open about my experiences.
I have received emails, DMs, private messages of others sharing their experiences, asking advice, or even just thanking me for being able to help them in their process of healing and finding themselves again after their toxic situations. All of the interactions and connections I’ve built with Time2Mend have truly changed my life for the better.
It reminds me of why I decided to create Time2Mend in the first place, to spread domestic violence awareness and document my journey to healing.
Just know that no matter where you started 2019 that you are going to accomplish everything you set your mind to! 2019 is your year and 2020 will be too! I used to feel discouraged when I would start a new routine and fail within a few days or even weeks. I had to realize that just like overcoming a toxic situation I can’t let one mistake ruin my entire journey. I have to constantly remind myself that great things take time.
We have 365 days to progress, we can’t try to rush our results. Just remember…
The Great Pyramids weren’t built in a day!
You got this!
